Okay, so it's been quite some time peeps, sorry, but hey I'm living in L.A now ha ha. I actually did it! So far I'm loving it here. I've been on quite a few adventures so far, well not really just a couple, but you know. So I'm still technically looking for a place to live and a job, but I'm staying pretty optimistic because I mean it's got to be better than working at a dead end fast food job living in a apartment where the landlord's screwing me over. Any way enough about my life, and back to the craft stuff ha ha.
So the reason why I'm telling you this is, as soon as I get a permanent place and a job, I'm going to have my family mail me my yarn and craft stuff so I can start working on my projects again. Maybe in the mean time I'll find a craft store and get something to tide me over. But, yeah just so you guys know why I haven't posted anything, and why I probably won't post anything for a while, but stick around please, I'll try keeping you guys updated on whats going on and check out my youtube channel where I'll be making daily vlogs about my life and maybe that will provide some insight as to when I'll start posting again, but just be warned, I have to figure out how to get the videos off of my video camera onto my chromebook so that might take a bit also lol. Sorry peeps.

Picture Perfect
So I have a few new projects done that need to be photographed, but unfortunately my camera is still not working and I hate taking still photos with my video camera. But today I have for you a short story I wrote a couple summers ago for a creative writing class. Hopefully you like to read lol.
Picture Perfect
Milo Walters sat on top of a bar stool seated behind the front counter. he had been playing with the miniature rock garden placed beside the register while waiting for his sister to finish with her final clients of the day.
Milo was lost in a world of rocks and sand when an over-sized purse was thumped onto the counter.
"Excuse me; I need to pay for my daughter's portraits. Did you hear me?" Demanded a woman.
Milo dragged the tiny rake through the sand with a quick swipe and placed a shiny black rock in the corner of the garden before grabbing the slip from the woman's hand.
"It'll be one hundred-twelve dollars and forty-six cents."
The woman pulled two one hundred dollar bills from her purse and held them out. Milo much preferred when people paid with credit cards.
"Well, are you just going to stare at me? I don't have all day," she spoke with a harsh tone that Milo was oblivious to.
Milo slowly grabbed her money and put it in the register, but before handing back the change, he pumped a blob of hand-sanitizer into his palms, and once again after giving back the change.
The woman was highly irritated and she stormed out the door with her daughter, she muttered, "God, could they hire anyone more retarded to work here."
Milo's sister, Lola, quickly slammed the door shut behind the woman and locked it.
"I swear that woman is totally logic-missing! I hate her! I hate her! I hate her!" Lola stomped her foot as she ran her fingers through her snarled red hair.
"We're going to be late," Milo responded after uncovering his ears.
"Milo, late for-" Lola's voice fell as she happened to glance up at the wall clock, "Oh."
Milo was eager to leave; He was always home at five-thirty. It was five-seven now, and the drive took twenty-five minutes. But Milo froze when he saw the only car in the parking lot, "Where's your car?"
Lola only laughed as she happily bounced into the driver's seat. Milo reluctantly crawled in the front seat; He always sat in the back, but this car had no back seat.
"Do you like it? We're borrowing it from Adam's dad."
Milo squirmed in the leather seat. No I don't like it, not one bit, this isn't good and we're going to be late, Milo thought as he tried to rationalize the anger rising in him. What he really needed was to get out of this car and into Lola's, but that would only make him more late. But late for what? Exactly, nothing. That was just his routine. Milo tried to sit still and not panic because he knew he was being irrational and he just wanted to seem normal even if he couldn't be normal.
"Lola, stop the car. Lola stop the car! Stop the car!" Milo screamed as he started to kick his feet.
Cars flew by and honked as Lola stomped on the brake and pulled off to the side of the road. Milo jumped out of the car before it came to a complete stop.
"Milo!" Lola threw the car in park and jumped out after her brother, "Are you crazy!"
Milo stood against a telephone pole with tears streaming down his cheeks, hot with anger and frustration towards his sister and the stupid car.
"What's the matter with you?" Lola screeched when she reached Milo.
"I don't know! Everything! Go away! You ruined everything! You're so stupid!"
Lola opened her mouth as if she were going to speak, but then shut it and walked quietly back to the car, where she waited for Milo's meltdown to end.

Lothlorien Leaf
Forgive the crappy quality of the picture, my camera has decided to stop working again and now I have to take pictures with my video camera. But look what I crocheted! I even put a pin on the back so it is wearable.
So I just used some scrap yarn that I had to make this some I'm actually not sure what the color names are. Also after I made the leaf, I spent 2 HOURS looking through all my yarn because I knew I had light grey somewhere and I COULDN'T find it. ANYWHERE! And then I found it so I was happy. Also it's about 4 1/2 inches long.

Stormcloak Banner Pictures Yay!
Here's a close up:
Yes, there are tacks in it so that is was stretched out properly, because when it hangs, the sides curl in a bit like this:
Here's a more accurate photo of the colors, the flash on my camera makes it look like a lighter blue:
And here's the fancy curtain rod that I bought just for it because I needed something to hang it up with and this decorative curtain rod, I feel does just that and also looks appealing.
Here's a more accurate photo of the colors, the flash on my camera makes it look like a lighter blue:
I had lots of fun trying to hang this up, and by lots I mean none at all. When I started putting the screws in for the curtain rod holder, three of the nails holding the paneling in place popped out because they were the crappy short little nails you use to put those stupid cardboard backing onto entertainment centers and such. So I went to the store and bought actual paneling nails, and learned that the plaster wall between the paneling and the outside brick wall is very thin and that's why there was such short nails in the paneling. Which leaves my wondering, "Is that why it's the only wall facing outside that has paneling?".
And in case you missed it in my last post:

Skyrim Stormcloak Banner
Yay! It's finally done. So I lost the cord for my camera (not my video camera, my regular camera), so I can't put up any pictures, but here's a video I made of it. Hopefully I will find it soon and I will upload actual pictures.
Now if you're interested, I used:
Lion Brand Yarn Hometown USA
6 skeins of San Diego Navy
&
not quite 1 skein of Los Angeles Tan
I thought I was going to use 4 skeins of blue and 2 of the white, I estimated horribly. But I guess it doesn't really matter much because I still have a whole skein of super soft white yarn that I can make something with ^_^

Skyrim Cross Stich and Fondant Baby Hulk
Here's a cross stitch I did. I made the black background using Tunisian crochet, which sets up a good piece of material for doing cross stitching into. This took me about three days to make. I don't have much experience with cross stitching so this was kind of a simple learning project for me. And I don't know if you can tell but the little x's at the top are straighter and more consistent than the ones near to bottom.
Some one had asked my mom to make a cake for a baby shower. And of course since my mom is now living with me and she knows how crafty I am, she asked me to make a baby Hulk. I just used store bought fondant and it was butt fucking ridiculous. I was so frustrated working on this. I like the way cakes look with things on them made out of fondant, but I hate working with it and it's probably because I haven't used it a lot.
Here's a picture of the finished cake:

Geek Pride Day
So in honor of Geek Pride Day, I've decided to share with my Peeps the Stormcloak banner I am actively working on. I am knitting it because I like the look of knitted color work to that of crocheted color work, not that I have much experience with either. I just looked at a bunch of pictures.
It is a little bit wider than what it looks in the picture, just because I didn't want to stretch it out too much off my needles and lose my stitches. I have 17 rows done, then 19 more rows before doing the actual color work.
Here it is charted out in Minecraft because I didn't have any graph paper big enough:
For those of you who are interested I'm using Lion Brand's Hometown USA in San Diego Navy and will probably use either Natural Cream or Neutral Beige for the bear, I haven't decided yet. I'm also using size 15 needles. And I don't think I'll take any more progress pictures of this project because after I put all the stitches back on, I realized I put them all on backwards :/
